League of Legends Lecture

Learn how to improve your game mechanics, micro/macro knowledge, and rank from former LCS coach, NicoThePico. This course will help you master League of Legends, the most popular video game since 2012 and biggest eSports scene across the globe with over 100 million active players.

The game League of Legends has become one of the most popular online multiplayer games ever created, earning Riot Games millions of dollars in revenue every year and drawing tens of thousands of players to its annual World Championship tournaments. The success of the game has fueled intense competition for players, and as a result, players have developed a wide range of self-governing systems for optimizing their gameplay.

A recent study has found that a number of motivational regulations—from the desire to socialize with teammates to an obsessive passion for winning—influence players’ performance and engagement in the game. The researchers surveyed more than 18,000 League of Legends players and found that, among other things, the motive to socialize is correlated with players’ levels of teammate loyalty, while the motivation to win is correlated with player skill.

When League of Legends co-founder Marc Merrill met with Jeff Jew, a USC graduate student working on the art team for the original DOTA, they had a secret plan to create a massive multiplayer shooter that focused heavily on character creation and pushed the quality bar up high. But the core team that began League of Legends soon started to break apart over competing ideals: Some wanted to deliver a DOTA clone quickly, and others were more interested in innovating with the genre. 롤대리
