Button Head Cap Screw
The screw head has a flat surface that is flattened into a button shape. It is free from pointed edges and offers a more aesthetic appearance than other threaded fasteners. The flattened surface allows the screw to be driven in a recessed socket. This socket design enables a higher torque specification than standard slotted or cross-recessed drive machine screws.
Button head socket caps are used when a flush finish is desired and the clamping material is too thin to countersink a regular socket screw. They also provide a larger load-bearing surface and help distribute force more evenly than a square or round screw with a smaller head.
Often confused with pan heads, these fasteners are typically found in mechanical applications. They are available with a wide variety of head shapes, materials and drive types, so be sure to review our full selection before choosing the right one for your application.
Whether you need a fastener with a large head for increased load-bearing capacity or a small head that reduces driving stress on the operator’s knuckles, Accu can supply the product you require.
